Lather Unusual was started by Logan Niles, a former executive chef and caterer from New York City. Why Handmade Soap?

Most people don't realize that commerically manufactured soaps are often filled with detergents. Though detergents are great for cleaning some things, they aren't very kind to human skin. Handmade soap, in it's most simplest form, is the combination of fats with lye (and a liquid medium to dissolve the lye in).
